Mount Baker

(10,786 feet)

Mount Baker was my goal. I hoped my legs would hold.
Along came my friend Climbing had become a trend
We hiked for a day and got out tent. I felt that my legs were already spent
Good night’s sleep I had As we started up I was glad
Soon the route up was rough my legs told me it was tough
With the crevasses we had to cope it was time to use the rope When we could see the summit, I knew that I would make it When we got to the top it was finally time to stop
Body told me that it was tired the view left me inspired
Downhill we propelled thinking of our stories to tell. Soon we were in the tent
Next day we were home and our photographs shone.
